Fiction should be 500–3,000 words; submit one story at a time. The magazine generally does not publish novel excerpts, plays, or scripts, though a monologue may be considered, and does not accept previously published work. Submissions are accepted September 1–November 30 and January 1–June 30; response is attempted within two to four months.
Creative nonfiction welcomes travel sketches, personal memoirs, and essays about sports, culture, history, or related subjects; 1,000–4,000 words is typical, with a 4,000-word maximum. Submit one essay at a time; previously published work is not accepted. Submissions are accepted September 1–November 30 and January 1–June 30.
Poetry on any subject, from any point of view and in any form; submit no more than 6–8 poems, preferably 3–4, totaling no more than 5–6 pages. Submissions are accepted September 1–November 30 and January 1–June 30; the magazine does not accept previously published work.
