Augur

Translation submissions for both Augur Magazine and Tales & Feathers Magazine are currently closed. Translators must provide background, literary and cultural context, rights-holder permission, and an English author biography; translated poetry must include the original poem.

Augur accepts fantasy, softer science fiction, dystopia, apocalypse, slipstream, fairytales, fables, fabulism, magical realism, dreamy realism, myth, and folklore. Stories must be no longer than 5,000 words; maximum one story per call. The July 1–15, 2026 worldwide submission window is closed.

Tales & Feathers seeks cozy, slice-of-life fantasy with quiet character-driven storytelling, gentle moments, rich worldbuilding, warmth, and possibility; it welcomes high fantasy, fairy tales, myth, and blurred genre lines. Stories may be up to 2,500 words, with a maximum of two stories. Submissions are closed in 2026.

Augur accepts speculative flash fiction of 800 words or fewer. The July 1–15, 2026 worldwide submission window is closed; maximum one story per call.
