Open to: The novel must be unpublished and at least 50,000 words long; submissions must be written in English or translated into English with both author and translator credited. No memoir or other nonfiction; no resubmissions after rejection and no additional submissions from previously published contributors.

Accepts the opening of an unpublished novel in any genre, either partially or completely written, with a 2,500–4,000-word opening and a 250–500-word Author’s Statement. Submissions are accepted year-round; those received by March 1, 2027, will be considered for Issue 26, released in April 2027. Only fiction novels of 50,000 words or longer are considered.
