Open to: Early-career Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, or other writer of color; must not have an MA, MFA, PhD, or related advanced degree in creative writing or English, or be enrolled in any degree-granting program; must not have published or be contracted to publish a full-length book (excluding self-publication); must be at least 18; must be based in or living in the United States during the fellowship; work must be primarily in English.

The Fresh Voices Fellowship supports one early-career writer of color in prose or poetry who lacks an advanced writing degree, has not published or been contracted for a full-length book, is at least 18, and will be based in or living in the United States; submissions must be primarily in English. Applicants submit a five-page work sample and cover letter. The fellowship pays a $2,000 stipend, includes editorial mentorship and print publication. No application fee. Applications are open September 15–October 15.
