Accepts short stories and novel excerpts on any subject, with a preference for local color—especially Floyd, the New River Valley, or rural settings—and Southern Gothic. Prose must not exceed 8,000 words; previously published work is not accepted.
Accepts essays on any subject, with a preference for local color—especially Floyd, the New River Valley, or rural settings—and Southern Gothic. Essays must not exceed 8,000 words; previously published work is not accepted.
Accepts edited-transcript interviews with writers in all genres, preferably local authors. Include where and when the interview took place and a brief biography of the interviewed author; interviews must not exceed 3,000 words.
Accepts up to five original poems on any subject, with a preference for local color and Southern Gothic. Previously published work is not accepted.
