Short fiction should be 1,000–2,000 words. Literary Garage wants gritty, consequential fiction with genuine conflict and a hard edge; it prefers work outside defined genres but welcomes hints of noir, crime, gothic, western, and horror. Submissions are temporarily paused for the next few weeks.

Stories should be 2,000–3,500 words maximum; longer work is generally considered only with prior approval by query. Flash fiction should be less than 1,000 words. The publication is temporarily pausing general submissions for the next few weeks while working on a special themed feature; submissions sent during the pause will not be read or considered.
