Mail submissions from incarcerated poets are welcomed during December 15–March 15 and June 1–August 31. Send a cover letter, brief biography, and up to five unpublished poems by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Please allow 1–4 months for a response.

Poetry submissions reopen December 15. The journal reads individual poems and groups of poems; submit up to five unpublished poems in one PDF or Word document. Reading periods are December 15–March 24 for the summer issue, varying by year, and June 1–August 31 for the winter issue. A $3 reading fee applies, except during free windows for U.S. Indigenous poets and occasional BIPOC pop-ups. Average response time is two weeks, with responses intended within 30 days or less.
