Roxane Gay Books accepts full-length manuscripts from agents; it seeks compelling literary fiction with plots, difficult or unlikable women, dark or joyful stories, contemporary romance, science fiction, and fantasy. Submissions may take three to six months to receive a response.

The Audacity seeks one thoughtful literary essay or memoir essay at a time, 1,500–4,000 words, from an emerging writer; the series is closed until December 1, 2026. Essays are paid $1,000, and responses may take up to eight weeks.
