Open to: First-time submissions are subject to the queue closure from May 1, 2027, through September 15, 2027; revised manuscripts may still be submitted through Manuscript FastTrack.
Stories should not exceed 3,500 words. Fiction writers may submit only one work at a time; previously published and simultaneous submissions are not considered.

Critical essays should be 6,000–8,500 words, excluding endnotes and Works Cited. Forgotten Manuscripts essays should be 1,500–3,500 words and introduce 3,000–5,000-word excerpts from neglected manuscripts; facsimiles are required. Only one essay may be submitted at a time, and revised manuscripts use Manuscript FastTrack.

Poets may submit no more than six works at a time, bundled into a single submission. Previously published and simultaneous submissions are not considered.
