fictionScience FictionFantasy

Augur accepts speculative and genre-blurring fiction, including fantasy, softer science fiction, dystopia, apocalypse, slipstream, fairy tales, fables, fabulism, magical realism, dreamy realism, myth, and folklore. Maximum 5,000 words; one story per call. Open July 1-15, 2026. Payment is CAD $0.14 per word for fiction of 800+ words and CAD $112 flat for flash fiction of 800 words or fewer.

Tales & Feathers seeks cozy, slice-of-life fantasy with quiet character-driven storytelling, gentle moments, rich worldbuilding, warmth, and possibility, especially high fantasy, fairy tales, and myth. Stories may be up to 2,500 words; maximum two stories. Closed to submissions in 2026.

otherScience FictionFantasy

Translation submissions for both Augur Magazine and Tales & Feathers are currently closed. Translation submissions require translator background and literary and cultural context, rights-holder permission, an English author bio, and the original poem for translated poetry.

poetryScience FictionFantasy

Augur accepts speculative and genre-blurring poetry in packages of up to five poems and 10 pages. Open July 1-15, 2026. Payment is CAD $100 per poem.
