Open to: Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience; currently enrolled undergraduates should not apply. Applicants from outside the United States must be able to work without visa sponsorship.
Spring editorial internship for January–May, with an application deadline of November 1; the live listing closes November 2, 2026 at 5:00 AM. Interns work 20 hours per week in person in Cambridge, Massachusetts and are paid $20 per hour.
Open to: considers submissions from people, not AIs; submissions must be the submitter’s own work. Previously published work is not considered.
Welcomes complete drafts and substantial pitches for argumentative essays, review essays, political, social, and cultural analysis, reporting, and commentary. Drafts must be 2,000–6,000 words; most published essays are 2,500–4,000 words. Unsolicited memoirs, personal essays, op-eds, previously published work, and proposals under 2,000 words are not considered. Reviews should make an original argument and generally be submitted near the work’s release date.
