Cagibi seeks literary fiction with memorable phrasing, compelling characters, surprising storylines, immersive imagery, authentic dialogue, tight narratives, creative structures, and clarity; it does not publish genre fiction such as hard science fiction or romance, though speculative elements are welcome.
Open year-round through Submittable. Cagibi seeks smart literary nonfiction that packs a punch, whether quiet or dramatic; memoirists should ground readers in the older narrator’s point of view rather than offering a vague retelling.
Open year-round through Submittable. English translations from any language are welcome for both prose and poetry; include the original text if possible, biographies of the writer and translator, and a brief introduction. Cagibi acquires first serial rights, and anthology selections receive one complimentary copy as compensation.
