The Citron Review is a journal of brief literature publishing microfiction, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, with a focus on very short works.

Submission calls

flashCloses Dec 6Pays: Currently, we are unable to pay for publication.

Micros: 100-word Microfiction, 100-word MicroCNF, and Micropoems (haiku-sized); submissions should be no more than one hundred (100) words; up to five (5) micro selections per quarter; submit each as a separate Word document.

Flash Fiction: submissions should be no more than one thousand (1,000) words; up to two (2) flash-fiction selections per quarter; submit each as a separate document.

nonfictionCloses Dec 6Pays: Currently, we are unable to pay for publication.

Creative Nonfiction: all types (memoir, essays, etc.) are acceptable; submissions should be no more than one thousand (1,000) words; up to two (2) selections per quarter; submit each as a separate document.

poetryCloses Dec 6Pays: Currently, we are unable to pay for publication.

Poetry: up to three (3) poetry selections per quarter; currently closed, but will reopen soon.
