Short fiction (not flash or short shorts) with contemporary themes; no genre fiction; generally 15–25 manuscript pages; one story at a time; open August 1–March 31; $3 submission fee; $300 payment.

poetryCloses Mar 31, 2027Fee: $3Pays: $100

Poetry of any style; up to 7 poems totaling no more than 20 pages, long poems up to 10 pages; line length limit 65 characters; open August 1–March 31; $3 submission fee; $100 payment.

nonfictionLiteraryFee: $3Pays: $300

Creative nonfiction (memoir and personal essay) with contemporary themes; generally 20–25 manuscript pages, but shorter or longer considered; no literary criticism; read year-round; $3 submission fee; $300 payment.

otherPays: One-year subscription

Book reviews of poetry and short story collections, novels, and literary nonfiction from small/independent presses or new/emerging writers; 750–1,000 words; no self-published books; compensation is a one-year subscription.
