Submissions are accepted during the spring reading period (January 15–April 15) and fall reading period (July 15–October 15), for work addressing the consequences of war or geopolitical violence. Shorts and excerpts are under 5,000 words; flash is under 1,000 words. Payment ranges from $30–$50 for print, with $50 for online features and $30 for Substack.

The magazine is open to pitches for reviews of books, movies, plays, and other works related to craft and/or its themes, though reviews are primarily solicited. Reviews should be 1,500–3,000 words and address the consequences of war or geopolitical violence.

Submissions are accepted during the spring reading period (January 15–April 15) and fall reading period (July 15–October 15), for poetry addressing the consequences of war or geopolitical violence. All forms of poetry are welcome; up to three poems may be submitted per submission.

Translations are open year-round and must address in some manner the consequences of war or geopolitical violence. They follow the pay scale and guidelines for the corresponding genre, with additional submission requirements listed on the submission platform.
