fictionLiterary

The Ritual Issue accepts fiction on rituals, including mourning, celebration, mysticism, eco-ritual, imagined future rituals, labor, human contact, rites, observance, and everyday practices. Prose may be up to 7,500 words, with no minimum; work should be literary, character-driven, and may lie outside the realist vein.

flashLiterary

No separate flash-fiction category is described; shorter fiction may be submitted under fiction, subject to the prose limit.

nonfictionLiterary

The Ritual Issue seeks nonfiction on rituals, including mourning, celebration, mysticism, eco-ritual, imagined future rituals, labor, human contact, rites, observance, and everyday practices. Prose may be up to 7,500 words, with no minimum; work should be wild and honest.

otherLiterary

Hybrid writing, translations, stage plays, and screenplays are accepted during the June 1–June 30 submission window. Hybrid work may be no more than 2,500 words; translations require the source-language text and author permission.

poetryLiterary

The Ritual Issue seeks poetry on rituals, including mourning, celebration, mysticism, eco-ritual, imagined future rituals, labor, human contact, rites, observance, and everyday practices. All forms are welcome; submit up to five poems totaling no more than 15 pages.
