Recommended Reading publishes fiction between 2,000 and 10,000 words. Currently closed for submissions; members can submit year round. Simultaneous submissions accepted; no previously published or previously rejected work unless invited. Payment: $300 upon acceptance.
Emerging Writers Contest: Open to fiction and poetry submissions from July 1 to July 22, or until caps are reached (1,200 for fiction, 600 for poetry). Entry fee: $20. See contest page for eligibility, guidelines, and prizes.
