Open to: Stories must be written for adult readers, human-authored, unpublished, and submitted by email; up to two stories may be submitted at a time.
Open to individual adult short stories for its free online platform; literary fiction and well-written general fiction are preferred, while crime, romance, horror, and hard science fiction are generally not favored. Stories must be no more than 5,000 words, with no minimum; flash fiction is welcome. Winter-themed stories are particularly sought in autumn 2026, with a deadline of 17 October.
Book-length nonfiction submissions are currently closed; Fairlight Books does not currently consider nonfiction book submissions.
