Submission calls
Regular print submissions are open from September 1 through March 1. Submit previously unpublished fiction; prose submissions may not exceed 7,000 words. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but multiple submissions in the same genre are not accepted.
Online Exclusives accept prose submissions during Gulf Coast's stated regular reading period. Prose should be typed, double-spaced, and paginated; Gulf Coast is less likely to accept submissions of more than 3,000 words.
