HEAT welcomes fiction, including writing about obsessions and curiosities, lost or secret histories, literary quests, and research brought to life. There is no word limit, and submissions are accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis, with occasional short unscheduled closures. Previously published English-language work is not accepted.

Write the Day invites a piece documenting a single day in the writer’s life, from waking to sleeping, capturing what passes through the writer’s mind and senses. It may be as long or as short as desired and, if accepted, will be published on the HEAT website and sent in the newsletter.

HEAT is currently closed to poetry submissions.
