Fiction is read September 1 through November 30; prose manuscripts should be under 10,000 words. Fiction is accepted electronically through Submission Manager, and previously published work is not accepted.
Nonfiction is read January 1 through March 31; prose manuscripts should be under 10,000 words. Nonfiction must be sent by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope, and previously published work is not accepted.
The magazine publishes essays, book reviews, literary criticism, and articles on contemporary cultural developments. Review submissions are considered on-spec only; unsolicited prose is under 10,000 words and is read during the nonfiction schedule of January 1 through March 31.
Poetry is read April 1 through June 30; submit no more than seven poems at once. Poetry must be sent by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope, and previously published work is not accepted.
