fictionLiteraryPays: Contributing writers receive two complimentary copies of the issue in which their work appears.

Seeks literary fiction emerging from character and language as much as plot; genre fiction is generally not published. Stories longer than about fifteen pages require a query first. Previously published work is not considered.

nonfictionLiteraryPays: Contributing writers receive two complimentary copies of the issue in which their work appears.

Seeks well-crafted, lively literary or personal essays; literary criticism is not wanted, though essays engaging literature in lived experience are welcome. Essays longer than about fifteen pages require a query first. Previously published work is not considered.

poetryLiteraryPays: Contributing writers receive two complimentary copies of the issue in which their work appears.

Seeks poems with an original voice, multilayered evocative imagery, and language shaped by awareness of sound and meaning. There is no length limit per poem, but submit no more than four poems at a time. Previously published work is not considered.
