Open to: Open to U.S. and international writers whose fiction has not appeared in a nationally distributed publication with circulation of 5,000 or more; online-magazine and self-published writers are considered individually.
Original unpublished fiction of up to 3,500 words; there are no theme or genre restrictions. The entry fee is $15 by September 1, 2026, or $20 for late entries submitted September 2-15. The 2027 competition begins September 16, 2026.
