Short Prose Prize: submissions open June 1 – August 15; 1,000 words or fewer; winner receives $250 and publication, runner-up published; entry fee is $6.
Fiction submissions open August 15 – October 15; rarely publish prose over 5,000 words; up to 3 flash/micro pieces under 1,000 words each per submission; simultaneous submissions allowed; generally do not accept work by current University of Virginia students.
Creative nonfiction submissions open August 15 – October 15; rarely publish prose over 5,000 words; up to 3 flash/micro pieces under 1,000 words each per submission; simultaneous submissions allowed; generally do not accept work by current University of Virginia students.
Poetry submissions open August 15 – October 15; up to five unpublished poems, totaling no more than ten pages per submission; simultaneous submissions allowed; generally do not accept work by current University of Virginia students.
Editors’ Prize in Prose: submissions open October 15 – December 15; 5,000 words or fewer; winner receives $1,000 and publication; entry fee is $12.
Editors’ Prize in Poetry: submissions open October 15 – December 15; up to four poems/ten total pages; winner receives $1,000 and publication; entry fee is $12.
