Flash fiction is read year round and published quarterly. Submit one story, one submission per reading period, and one file per submission; up to 750 words. Simultaneous submissions are allowed.

Essays are read year round and published quarterly. The journal seeks personal essays related to being a writer and/or visual artist; highly technical craft essays are not a good fit. Up to 1,500 words.

Open to: For general submissions, authors must be at least 18 at publication. The 2027 Maureen Seaton Poetry Prize is limited to LGBTQIA+ submitters and requires entrants to be at least 18; there are no geographical restrictions.

Reads poetry year round and publishes quarterly. Submit up to three unpublished poems in one document, no more than five pages or approximately 150 lines; only one submission per six-month period. The Fourth Annual Maureen Seaton Poetry Prize opens October 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, and accepts one unpublished poem of up to three pages from LGBTQIA+ submitters age 18 or older.
