Essays are accepted year-round, with occasional two-week closures at the end of quarterly reading periods; the journal seeks personal, lyric, and other essays related broadly to life in the arts, up to 1,500 words.

Flash fiction is accepted year-round, with occasional two-week closures at the end of quarterly reading periods; one story per reading period, one file per submission, generally up to 750 words. The February 2027 deadline is subject to change.
Open to: Entrants must be members of the LGBTQIA+ community and at least 18 years old; there are no geographical restrictions. Former students of the judge and writers who have shown, discussed, or workshopped the work with the judge should refrain from entering.
The Fourth Annual Maureen Seaton Poetry Prize is open October 1 through December 31, 2026; submit one previously unpublished poem in a document of no more than three pages. The prize is $500, with up to three honorable mentions, and results announced by April 1, 2027.
