Fiction submissions are accepted in the fall from August 1 through November 1 and in the spring from February 15 through May 15; send one story, no longer than 8,000 words. Fiction is capped at 300 general submissions per period.
Nonfiction submissions are accepted in the fall from August 1 through November 1 and in the spring from February 15 through May 15. Literary essays, memoirs, personal, lyric, research-based, journalistic, travel, scholarly, and other creative nonfiction are welcome; published essays are generally no more than 12,000 words, though submissions of any length are accepted.
Poetry submissions are accepted in the fall from August 1 through November 1 and in the spring from February 15 through May 15; submit up to three poems. Poetry is capped at 250 general submissions per period.
Online Features accepts one short story from 500 to 2,000 words; the page does not state a separate submission schedule.
