Open to: Writers accepted by Stone’s Throw during the calendar year may not submit again that year.

Monthly prompts seek dark fiction, crime, and noir stories of 1,000–2,000 words aligned with the prompt. The October 2026 prompt concerns ghost hunters encountering a crime in a haunted house; submissions open September 1–4, 2026. Accepted stories are paid $25 and published online the following month.
