Subtropics accepts up to four poems in one document, but will resume reading poetry in 2027. Poets who have published work within the past two issues should refrain from submitting.
Subtropics 40 is an all-prose issue; it considers fiction of any length, from short shorts to novellas and self-contained novel excerpts. Fiction was read September 7–13, 2026, and poetry resumes in 2027.
