Seeking unpublished historical flash and short fiction set between July 1936 and September 1936, exploring social and political tensions leading to World War II; submissions close October 1, 2026. Historical fiction set before January 1, 2000 is otherwise welcome, with short stories up to 20,000 words and novel excerpts accepted. No speculative elements or alternative history; stories set in Spain or Portugal are excluded from this call. Contributors to the anthology receive a share of royalties for one year.
