The Sowell Emerging Writers Prize accepts submissions for a book of poetry September 15–November 15, 2026. The $25 fee enters work for a $1,000 prize, publication by Texas Tech University Press, and a residency of up to two weeks with travel assistance.
Open to: Must have a Washington State affiliation and be under 21.
