Nonfiction of general interest only; no length or topic restrictions; double-spaced; excerpts from book-length manuscripts considered if they stand alone; works not fitting an issue may be considered for BLAST (online exclusive, $100 per essay).

Considers interviews and omnibus reviews of 3–6 books sharing a common feature or topic; especially interested in books from smaller presses or emerging authors; unsolicited interviews and omnibus review essays of 3,000–5,500 words may be submitted.

poetryPays: $25 per printed page (Poem of the Week: $100; Poem of the Year Prize: $1,000, runners-up $250)

Publishes three poetry features per issue (6–14 pages each); submit 8–20 pages of unpublished poetry; poetry not fitting an issue may be considered for Poem of the Week (eligible for annual Poem of the Year Prize).
