Closed until September 15 to catch up with the backlog. Fiction should be original, previously unpublished prose; microfiction of 1,000 words or less may include up to three texts in one submission. Annual members may submit outside usual reading periods through the member portal.

Essays are closed until September 15 to catch up with the backlog. The magazine seeks personal, reflective essays with depth and cultural context; criticism accepts pitches of 500 words or less and completed cultural-criticism essays of 1,200–5,000 words.

Interviews are closed until September, while criticism is open for pitches of 500 words or less and completed essays of 1,200–5,000 words. Interviews should be conversations with artists, writers, musicians, thinkers, or creators engaging critically with the present.

The comics section currently considers only standalone, complete comics—not pitches, scripts with incomplete artwork, or excerpts from larger works. Submissions must be previously unpublished; final files should be 72 dpi and 1,000 pixels wide. Response queries are welcome after eight months.

Open to: Submissions must be in Spanish.

El Alboroto is a Spanish-language section accepting fiction, poetry, essays, criticism, interviews, book reviews, and comics. All submissions must be completely unpublished, include a cover letter and third-person bio, and contain no more than 2,500 words. Criticism must be complete rather than a proposal.
