Featured Poet submissions are accepted in November each year: send eight previously unpublished poems. Writers must live in Ireland or consider Ireland home, be working toward a first collection, and provide three publication credits from the past three years.
The magazine accepts previously unpublished short fiction and novel extracts; novel submissions should be a standalone chapter, section, or story-length passage rather than a full novel. The next open submission round will be announced soon.
The magazine accepts previously unpublished nonfiction, including shorter essays and graphic nonfiction. The next open submission round will be announced soon.
The Comhchealg section welcomes pieces in Irish from new writers and follows the English-language poetry submission guidelines; English translations may be provided for selected poems. The next open submission round will be announced soon.

The 2026 Irish Writers Centre New Writing Prize accepts one previously unpublished story under 3,000 words from June 16 until 5pm on June 30. The entry form was available through Submittable during that period.
