The Whumpy Printing Press

Seeking whumpy stories of at least 7,500 words for 2027 publication. Whump may be physical or emotional and should prominently feature severe trauma while balancing whump with plot; any genre is considered, with a preference for science-fiction and fantasy settings. Novelettes, novellas, novels, and short story collections are accepted. Submissions are open March 1-June 30, 2026 and August 1-September 30, 2026. Hard prohibitions include partly or wholly AI-generated stories, copyrighted fanfiction, specified child or animal torture or sexual content.
