Trembling With Fear

Themed calls accept dark speculative or horror stories up to 2,500 words. Valentine’s submissions run December 1–January 31; summer holiday submissions April 1–July 31; Halloween submissions August 1–October 13; Christmas submissions November 1–December 7. Dates are described as approximate.

Serial tales may run up to 15,000 words and should be divisible into 4–10 mini-chapters of 1,000–1,500 words, with section breaks clearly marked. Submissions are ongoing.

The Unholy Trinity requires three standalone drabbles connected by a theme or plot; each drabble must be exactly 100 words. Submissions are ongoing. A note explaining the connection and inspiration is welcome but not required.

Dark speculative fiction, including horror, dark science fiction, and dark fantasy; complete stories only, with no extracts or scenes. Flash and short stories must be up to 1,500 words, with 800–1,500 words preferred. Short stories are accepted January 1–15, April 1–15, July 1–15, and October 1–15; drabbles are ongoing. Drabbles must be exactly 100 words. No reprints, fanfiction, erotica, graphic sex, or discriminatory content.
