VOLTA publishes fiction under 7,500 words. Send one piece at a time, or up to three very short pieces under 1,000 words each; excerpts from longer works are welcome if they stand alone.
VOLTA publishes personal essays, literary criticism, cultural criticism, travel writing, and environmental writing, with a 3,000-word limit.
VOLTA seeks original, unpublished translations of literary works from any language into English. Include the original-language text and source; submissions may be no more than 6,000 words of prose or six poems, and translators must acquire translation rights before submitting.
VOLTA accepts poems of any length and no more than six poems at once.
