Allegory specializes in science fiction, fantasy, and horror, and considers humor or general-interest fiction with an original, quirky slant. There is no formal minimum or maximum, though pieces under 500 words and over 5,000 words are difficult sells. Submissions are accepted May 1-June 30, 2026, and November 1-December 31, 2026. Reprints must identify the original publication and date.
Articles must concern the art or business of writing, including research, editing, characterization, narrative style, queries, cover letters, or working with editors, agents, and publishers. Maximum length is 2,000 words. Submissions are accepted May 1-June 30, 2026, and November 1-December 31, 2026.
