Seeks character-oriented, serious and accessible science fiction, with room for humorous, borderline fantasy, slipstream, and surreal fiction; no sword and sorcery, explicit sex or violence. Stories are usually 1,000–20,000 words, though the magazine seldom buys stories shorter than 1,000 or longer than 20,000. Submissions are online or by mail; no simultaneous submissions or reprints.
Poetry should not exceed 40 lines; submit a separate form for each poem. The magazine pays $1 per line.
